IIT Jee
IIT- JEE is one of the toughest and most challenging engineering entrance examinations in India. IIT-JEE is the gateway to the top engineering colleges in India. Admission to all the IIT’s (Indian Institute of Technology), NIT (National Institute of Technology), IIIT and many other centrally funded government institutes is based on the IIT-JEE scores. There is a major change in the test pattern and this change is effective 2013. The new admission test consists of two phases – JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

IIT- JEE Exam
Only candidates who have completed 10+2 from recognized central/state board such as Central Board of Secondary education, Council of Indian School Certificate examinations are eligible for the examination. A candidate can attempt IIT-JEE maximum two times in consecutive years.
JEE Main exam is a written test and this is a screening test for candidates. Only the first 1, 50,000 candidates who clear JEE Main examination are eligible to take up JEE- advanced. The merit list for JEE-main is purely based on the candidate’s performance in the test. Top 20% scorers are directly eligible to the IIT’s. This examination pattern makes it very clear that, only eligible candidates can get entry to the IIT’s. Students seeking admission to the NIT’s need not take up the advanced test. Final list for admission given 40% weightage for Class 12th board exams and 60% is based on the advanced test.
